Russia sends chilling nuclear threat to West as Putin 'ready for WW3 in 18 months'

Russia has escalated its rhetoric towards the West, threatening nuclear conflict as it showed off its military might through massive naval drills. The exercises, dubbed July Storm, were captured on video, displaying Russian Navy's use of sea drones and coordination among warships in the Pacific, Baltic, and Caspian Seas.

The Russian Defence Ministry reported that the show of force included 50 warships and supply vessels, 120 aircraft, 10 coastal missile systems, and 15,000 troops. This demonstration of power follows a statement by US Army Europe and Africa Commander General Christopher Donahue, who suggested that NATO could swiftly seize control of the Russia-surrounded Kaliningrad, prompting a sharp response from Putin's confidant and ex-intelligence chief, Nikolai Patrushev.

Patrushev rebuked the West for its "aspirations" to "violate Russia's sovereignty and territorial integrity by military means" asserting, "We have long been aware of the West's plans for Kaliningrad."

He declared, "The Kaliningrad region is an integral part of Russia, and any military encroachment on it will be met with an immediate and crushing response using all the forces and means at our disposal."

Further emphasizing Russia's readiness, Patrushev, who previously led the FSB counterintelligence service, cautioned, "Russia has all the necessary military instruments to guarantee the security of the Kaliningrad region," making it clear that he was referring to a potential nuclear retaliation, reports the Express.

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has echoed the sentiments of a top US General, suggesting that Russian forces might be primed for a clash with Europe in as little as 18 months.

General Alexus Grynkewich, the newly appointed NATO commander in Europe, indicated that according to US intelligence, Russia could be operationally prepared for a European conflict within the next two years.

He cautioned: "If Xi Jinping decides to launch military action against Taiwan, it is likely he will coordinate it with Vladimir Putin, which creates the potential for a global conflict."

Tusk referred to General Grynkewich's remarks, stating: "Today, NATO's Supreme Allied Commander in Europe, General Alexus Grynkewich, confirmed to me the American assessments that Russia will be ready for confrontation in just a year and a half.

"Russia will be ready for confrontation with Europe - and therefore with us - as early as 2027."

After consultations with both the outgoing and incoming chiefs of MI6, Tusk further commented: "All of these meetings and decisions are dedicated to one thing: Poland must be ready. The Polish Armed Forces must be well-equipped. The situation inside Poland must remain stable so we are prepared for any scenario."
